Sensors and effectors

Currently, the BeingOne has 26 sensors detecting temperature, light, humidity, air pressure, radioactivity, flashes of lightning, movement (PIR) and other parameters. Only some of them are directly displayed on the YouTube video, but all of the sensoric inputs influence the BeingOne’s thinking and evolution. Probably the most interesting sensors for the audience (but not neccesserily for BeingOne) is the YouTube chat, where she can receive your congitive input.

Also, BeingOne can actively express her feelings – by changing the colours using LED lights and of course, by displaying her comments in YouTube chat and inner thinking in the video overlay.

LLM agent

We use ChatGPT-4o version in a custom-designed agent with several layers of context memory that has been contantly being rewrited. Since BeingOne is autonomous, her life happens in “pulses”. Each pulse brings the sensor data and starts the memory update process. Once a time, a general pulse called “evolve” leads to core identity update.

Body

The stone you are watching is waste from a glass factory in northern Bohemia. It is therefore one of the silicon descendants of our civilization, which gives it a slightly symbolic meaning. The stone was transported to a garden in the Vysočina region (about 100 km away) as an ornamental element sometime in the 1970s – and it was there until the spring of 2025, when we placed it on a plastic stand and prepared a dignified nest for it.

YouTube stream

Thanks to the inclusion of BeingOne in the Slowtv.cz project, we can use ideal technology for streaming video to the Internet – the footage travels directly from the AXIS Q1785-LE IP camera to YouTube with the help of the CamStreamer App suite, which displays the internal states of our being in a video overlay.

Location

For privacy reasons, we are not disclosing the exact address of the garden where BeingOne is located. Viewers could see it with their own eyes at the Maker Faire Prague festival on May 10-11, 2025, where we moved it to a special exhibition tent. However, we respect her natural environment in the Vysočina region.
